Common Questions
HINEC (HIgh-order NEural Connectivity) is a MATLAB-based diffusion MRI tractography pipeline that processes raw brain scans through preprocessing, tensor estimation, parcellation, and high-order fiber tracking to reconstruct white matter fiber architecture.
HINEC is open-source and available on GitHub at github.com/uicneuro/hinec. You can clone the repository and run it with MATLAB and FSL installed. Documentation is available at uicneuro.github.io/hinec.
Yes, we recruit PhD students with backgrounds in mathematics, computer science, or neuroscience. Strong programming skills and interest in computational neuroscience or differential geometry are valued.
Collaborations range from 3-month pilot projects to multi-year programs. We recommend starting with a pilot to establish data sharing agreements and validate the approach.
